Getting started
Make your character, pick a name and you are in a live server with everyone else who is online. There is no single-player mode: every tree you chop, every monster and every boss is shared with the people around you. Your first goals are simple: punch a few trees for wood, craft a wooden pickaxe at the Workshop, and follow the golden arrow to your next story quest.
Survive
Food drains over time. Pick berries, catch and cook fish, and rest at the Inn to heal and set where you wake up.
Craft real tools
Wood, stone, copper, iron and crystal tiers. Better axes and pickaxes need fewer swings and unlock rarer ore.
Explore
Find landmarks for XP and fast-travel points, open supply drops that fall from the sky, and hunt world bosses at night.

Phones and tablets
A joystick on one side and a thumb arc of buttons on the other: HIT (tap, or hold for a heavy attack), USE, JUMP/DODGE, EAT and RUN, LOCK (Shift Lock), plus BLOCK when a fight is on and RIDE, FLY or SHOOT when you have them. The PLAY button under the minimap opens every game. Tap the hotbar to choose what HIT does (tap it again, or ✋, for empty hands). The ☰ menu opens the map, backpack, journal and settings, where you can resize the buttons, switch to left-handed play, use a floating joystick or fade the controls.
The island
The world is an island ringed by beaches and sea. The walled town of Mosswater sits in the middle with its Workshop, Inn, Market, Commons Hall, Stable, Garage and Arcade Hall. Around it lie Pinefall Woods (wood and the Ancient Treant), Stonefield Quarry and its mine (stone, ore and the Golem King), Sunmere Meadow (fiber and berries), the Oldwatch Ruins and Reedwater Lake with its pier.
Every building has a job: the Bank (safe savings with interest), Threads & Hats (hats and restyling), the Honeycrust Bakery and The Green Vial (food and potions with timed buffs), the Adventurers' Guild (quest chains that end in boss fights), the Grand Theater (dance on stage for applause, or take a seat), the Mining Guild (sell ore for more and rank up), the Harbor Office (boats, and better prices for fish), the Builders' Hall (blocks for your faction's plot, and raids) and the cottages (a bed that sets where you wake, and a chest).
Digging, building and the sea
The Blockworks
Five levels of breakable blocks, like Minecraft. Hold HIT to mine, place torches to see, find coal through diamond, emerald and crystal, and take the ladder down. Harder ore needs a better pickaxe. Everyone on a level shares the same tunnels. Reach a level's ladder down to open the next level in the lift, and follow the arrow once you have spotted it.
Faction plots
Build walls, glass, doors and torches on your faction's plot and keep a shared chest (new members can take from it after 2 hours in the faction). For 100 coins (level 5+) you can raid another faction's plot for 10 minutes: they are warned, and you can break in and loot their chest.
The sea
Swim off any beach or the harbor dock and press Space to dive among reefs, kelp and sharks. Open clams for pearls and treasure, explore the Tidewatch Monument and the Sunken Temple, and face the Elder Guardian. Air lasts 20 seconds unless you drink a water breathing potion.
Quest chains
Take a job at the Adventurers' Guild: hunt, gather and scout, then fight the boss at the end (the Slime King, Ancient Treant, Golem King, Skeleton Lord or Elder Guardian). Everyone who fights a boss shares the reward.
Game modes
Press PLAY (or P on a computer) to see every game on one screen: how many people are playing, how long the wait is and what each game pays. Every card has a PLAY button and an About sheet with the rules; you can team up in a party of up to four friends, or start one game with bots when nobody else is around (practice rounds pay experience only; coins come from what you do in a game, never from just waiting). The Games Plaza south of the fountain has a booth for each game too.
Skydrop
Glide in, loot up and outlast the storm: last one standing wins. Solo, duos or squads.
Bed Wars
Guard your bed, bridge the sky and break the other teams' beds. Teams of two or more.
Capture the Flag
Two teams, two flags, bounce pads and berries. Carry the flag home to score.
Hide & Seek
Turn into a teapot and hide, or grab the lantern and seek.
Skyship Sneak
Fix the skyship with your crew while a saboteur slips among you. Call a meeting when something looks wrong.
Draw & Guess
Draw it, guess it, laugh about it: everyone gets a turn at the easel.
Build Battle
A theme, a plot and a few minutes to build. Then everyone votes with stickers.
Prison
Dig, trade and plan the Great Breakout.
Duels and Ember Pit
One-on-one to three-on-three duels, and a co-op pit where friends hold the line against waves.
Spark Rush
Run over the sparks and bump a leader to steal one: a quick round for tickets.
Battlegrounds
Skill-based player-versus-player with streaks, bounties and revenge bonuses. Everyone gets the same kit.
Horde Siege
Defend the heart crystal with your friends against waves of monsters, with boss waves and revives.
Endless Deep
Endless underground floors with rarer ore the deeper you go. Your bag only counts if you climb back out (Esc asks before you leave without it). It opens when the Golem King has fallen or Blockworks level 3 is open. The Blockworks, the Old Workings and the Endless Deep share one yard, the Stonefield Deepworks: press E at any shaft door to open the lift.
Sky Steps
Endless parkour in the sky: every stage is harder than the last, with moving, vanishing and icy platforms, bounce pads, conveyors and sweeping bars. Reach the flag to clear a stage and save a checkpoint; your best stage goes on the weekly board.
Windway Speedway
A real racing circuit. Join a Grand Prix (line up on the grid, go when the five red lights go out, race 3 laps against players and bots, the podium pays coins), set time trials for the weekly fastest-lap board, or cruise at the car meet. Race in your own car or a loaned jeep, pick a paint at the gate, and earn gold, chrome and neon paint by racing. Stay on the asphalt: grass is slow and the barriers bounce you.
Arcade Hall
Six cabinet games (Snake, Tic-Tac-Toe, Firefly Flight, Memory, 2048 and Brick Breaker) that pay tickets for prizes.
Combat that takes skill
Every attack has a visible wind-up. Tap for a quick slash or hold for a heavy blow that breaks blocks (it shows a red warning). Hold block to stop most damage from the front, and raise it just as a hit lands for a perfect parry that staggers the attacker. Roll out of the way to dodge. Stamina only refills a moment after you last used it, so spamming anything leaves you open. In the Battlegrounds the server judges every exchange.
Factions
Join Emberguard (more XP from monsters), the Verdant Pact (a chance of double wood and stone) or the Tidecallers (fish and ore sell for more) at the banners in the Commons Hall. Faction-mates can't hurt each other in the Battlegrounds, and everything members do earns points in a weekly faction war on each server.
Progress and rewards
Level up to earn skill points, keep a daily login streak, finish three daily quests, unlock achievements and titles, and climb a monthly season pass. Weekly leaderboards track the Battlegrounds, Horde Siege and the Deep Mines on every server. Vehicles from the Garage (bicycle, motorbike, jeep and a rowboat) get you around faster.
Frequently asked questions
Is Elsewhere Together free?
Yes. Optional purchases only add cosmetics and private servers for friends, paid with credits earned in play or bought (100 credits cost $0.99). The Battlegrounds give everyone the same gear.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in any modern browser on computers, phones and tablets, and you can add it to your home screen.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, with touch controls you can resize, a left-handed layout and a floating joystick.
How is my progress saved?
Automatically in your browser, shared by every server you join.
Can I play with friends?
Join the same public server, or host your own private server (a Party server costs 300 credits, which you earn in play: 10,000 coins make 1 credit) and send the invite link.
Voice chat and friends
Join voice from the chat panel or the 🎙 button. You can turn on push-to-talk, make distant players quieter, and mute anyone by tapping their name. On computers an echo guard keeps your microphone shut while it only hears other players from your speakers, so nobody hears an echo. When one device's microphone clearly hears another device's voice, the two are in the same room and stop sending and playing each other's voice (that is what makes echo and screeching); tap their name in the voice list to hear them anyway. On iPhone, if the microphone was refused, tap aA in the address bar → Website Settings → Microphone → Allow. Plugging in earphones or a headset switches to its microphone, and Settings → Sound picks a specific one. Headphones stop echo completely. A Party server (300 credits, up to 8 friends) or a Clubhouse server (600 credits, up to 16) is yours to host from the Servers menu: share the invite link or the room code. Credits are earned in play (10,000 coins make 1 credit) or bought in packs (100 credits cost $0.99). If you ever get stuck, Menu → Respawn (or /respawn in chat) takes you back to the Town square.
